Ex-Montrealers glad to face Als Canada Day
Canada Day fireworks are assured with the Stampeders versus the Alouettes live on CJAD (Countdown to Opening Kickoff right after Abe Hefter's "THE LOCKER ROOM" at 6PM) Sunday.
Ex-Montrealers now with the Stampeders like Randy Chevrier, Larry Taylor and recently-retired defensive tackle turned coach DeVone Claybrooks say it is the perfect matchup for an explosive rivalry that has renewed in the Trestman and Hufnagel eras since the 2008 Grey Cup at Olympic Stadium.
Taylor, a former CFL special teams player of the year, broke into his usual smile when asked about the revolving door at kick-returner since he left Montreal. He's got advice for the CFL newbies Trent Guy and Noel Devine.
"The wide field can kill you. You always think your speed will get you there, but the field will always catch you."
Numerous Alouette contenders for the return job fell prey to the temptation to take runs to the wide side even if it meant angling back and being dropped for losses during pre-season.
