Anderson: survivor now The Man
Rookie Victor Anderson sets out on another life challenge to prove he can defy the odds again. He's done it just by getting to Montreal. Now he has to prove he can be a replacement for Victor Anderson for the rest of the season.
Anderson is a survivor of brutal ghetto conditions in Louisville, Kentucky where drugs ruled the lives of his mother and father. Now Anderson is a public speaker about overcoming such obstacles.
The Toronto Argonauts are the obstacle trying to stop Anderson this Sunday afternoon (12:30 Countdown to Opening Kickoff on CJAD 800).
Anderson says Brandon Whitaker has pushed him to get better all through training camp and regular season. Whitaker is done for the year, awaiting surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee once the swelling comes down.
Listen to a CJAD 1-on-1 with the remarkable Victor Anderson, who rushed for 100+ yards and an impressive 5.7/carry in his only CFL start earlier this summer when Whitaker had to miss a game because of a rib injury.
