Emry tackling bullying, depression
Shea Emry was runner-up Thursday at the CFL Awards in 2 major categories, but he's a winner in 2 bigger battles. Emry has taken another big step this week into campaigning against bullying and depression.
Hardly 24 hours after the East Final loss Sunday to the Argos, Emry was the invited speaker at a gathering for AMI Quebec, Action on Mental Illness, where he spoke before his parents for the first time about being a victim of bullying as a teen and bouts of depression as recently as last season with the Alouettes.
Emry would rather have had his teammates with him at Grey Cup week festivities, but Friday night he's thrown his support behind a party to raise concussion awareness.
Shea talks here about his depression, bullying and his hopes for the future on and off the field.
