Argos steal Brady, Als suffer more coaching brain-drain
After hiring their 4th defensive coordinator in 4 years, the Als will now have to hire their 3rd offensive coordinator in 3 years.
Just a week after hiring Noel Thorpe to replace Jeff Reinebold, Montreal has lost former backup QB turned coach Marcus Brady to---who else---the Argos.
Brady joins former Alouettes Scott Milanovich (head coach), Chris Jones (defensive coordinator), Steve McAdoo (o-line), not to mention GM Jim Barker, a former Als' offensive co-ordinator.
Brady, once a backup to Damon Allen in Toronto, served as Anthony Calvillo's backup before becoming receivers coach, then QB coach, followed by OC duties in 2012.
The Als reworked their offensive scheme due to crippling injuries on the receiver corps, involving more tight ends, maximum protection and a power running game by the end of the season. But that transformation was abandoned in the 2nd Half of the East Final when the Als squandered a lead on Toronto, which went on to win the 100th Grey Cup.
