Calvillo wins All-CFL allstar status, silence golden on '13 return
Unless Anthony Calvillo is about to throw the biggest bomb of his off-field career, expect the Alouettes to have the All-CFL allstar QB taking shotgun snaps in 2013.
Calvillo has had no further discussion with GM Jim Popp about returning, or retiring, and no news is good news as far as the Alouettes are concerned.
Calvillo is one of 6 Alouettes named to the All-Canadian team as voted by the fans and the Football Reporters of Canada (of which CJAD is a voting member).
Three of AC's bodyguards along the offensive win win allstar selections: Luc Brodeur-Jourdain, Scott Flory and o-lineman of the year runner-up Josh Bourke.
Calvillo will have to get used to his third new boss in 3 years: offensive coordinator Marcus Brady has gone to the Argos (CJAD Sports confirming that he did so only after rejecting a multi-year offer to stay). Brady is reunited with the previous OC in Montreal---Scott Milanovich.
CJAD sources around the league suggest there could be other coaching changes among the assistants by the time Training Camp 2013 opens under Marc Trestman (who thankfully has not yet been named in the annual NFL coaching rumour mill.)
