The man who brought Marc Trestman to the CFL is thrilled his now ex-head coach is making the jump to his dream job in the NFL.

Jim Popp believes Trestman making the leap from Montreal to the Chicago Bears will only enhance the Als' status as a gateway to the NFL and is likely to produce more candidates to replace the man who has led the Als on the sidelines for the last 5 years.

Listen to Jim Popp in a CJAD exclusive on where he stands with his own NFL job search, as well as how he'll proceed to find the next Alouette head coach.

Popp was reached early Wednesday morning in Florida, where he'll be scouting the US college Senior Bowl game which is also an annual coaches convention.   That times out well with Trestman's high-profile hire expected to generate more interest in the Montreal job.
