Als going to AC's Old School Coach?

Anthony Calvillo can't help but recognize one of the leading candidates to replace Marc Trestman.   Jim Zorn is not just a veteran NFL coach.   He helped groom Calvillo at Utah State in the early '90s.

Als GM Jim Popp confirmed Zorn is on a short-list of candidates including Universite' de Montreal head coach Danny Maciocia who interviewed Monday in Florida for the Alouette job and told CJAD he felt the discussion with Popp and owner Robert Wetenhall went well.

Zorn was Redskins head coach for 2 seasons going 8-8 then 4-12 only to be fired immediately following the 2009 season.

More recently he's been coaching with the Ravens where he worked with current Super Bowl quarterback Joe Flacco, as well as the Kansas City Chiefs.

Zorn holds an integral place in Calvillo's development as a quarterback.  In fact it was on a visit to Washington DC to see a 'Skins game after the 2008 Grey Cup defeat.  It was on that trip Calvillo rededicated himself to doing everything off the field he could to ensure victory.

That is when his longtime "lifestyle coach" and training expert Scott Suter put together AC's unique dietary and workout regimen that has been tweaked every year since.

Zorn was a scrambling quarterback who played briefly in the CFL after a solid career in the NFL from 1976-85.

The Alouettes are also considering Mike Miller, the recently axed offensive coordinator of the Arizona Cardinals.  He's only 42, and worked under Bill Cowher with the Steelers before moving on to the Buffalo Bills and the Cards.

I hope the Als. do not hire Danny Maciocia. if they do the Als will not do good, look at Edmonton there whole organization had to be built again because of him. the only reason they won the cup was the players they had. so Please Mr. Popp do not hire this man, I love the Als, always have, I am a season ticket holder I really do not want to see him there.
