Hawkins ready to take on the challenge

New Alouettes head coach Dan Hawkins joined us in studio today.

The 52 year old takes over the reigns from Marc Trestman, who left last month to take on head coaching duties for Chicago Bears in the NFL. Trestman won back to back Grey Cup championships with the Alouettes during his tenure in Montreal, but Hawkins says he's not feeling extra pressure to measure up.

"I don't think we're really worrying about that much. I'm very much like Marc when it comes to the science of football, when it comes down to how you treat the players and all those intangeable things fit into a football program. But i'm not going to try to be like him or different, we're going to do our style. I think for us it's just getting there every day and chasing excellence and trying to grind it out every day and just get better."
