Marsh's emotional motivator
Tanner Marsh will carry his usual store of emotional fuel to Toronto on Labour Day Monday as he prepares to face the Argos. Marsh wears a rope cross, a bracelet for a Texas driver safety campaign, and tatoo on his throwing arm that serves as a constant reminder to appreciate the moments.
Marsh reflects on his unique journey to "Marsh Madness" in the CFL in a 1-on-1 after practise at which he took starting reps in preparation for Tuesday night's game against the Argos (you'll hear it live on CJAD 800).
Marsh says he's faced plenty of adversity in his life, not the least of which overcoming the emotional hurt of losing his college roommate while at West Texas A&M. Kendrick Cutsinger died in a crash and was not buckled up. That touched off a road safety campaign that Marsh to this day supports by wearing a bracelet on his throwing arm, as well as the tatoo of the initials of his buddy.
Marsh also talks about the lure of ex-NFL star Ryan Leaf and his move to Arkansas Tech, that hooked him up with the man who has already offered him a coaching job had Marsh not been able to find a job in the NFL or CFL.
