So it looks like there will be another round of negotiations between the Quebec government and student leaders, perhaps by early next week.

It will be very interesting to follow this development, particularly in light of the fact that neither side is budging on the tuition fee hikes.

I spent some time this evening speaking with Martine Desjardins, the head of the Federation Etudiants Universitaire de Quebec. She outlined how she felt about the current crisis and what she expects from the next round of talks.

It doesn't sound very encouraging. And as far as Desjardins is concerned, the pressure is on the government to end this crisis.
