What it's like to deal with language cops
It seems that almost everyday, we hear stories of how the Office de la Language Francaise is going after various businesses in the Montreal area.
Some would say they're applying the letter of the law. But even the PQ government has the common sense to admit the language cops have been over-zealous in some cases.
Tonight I spoke with Toby Lyle, the owner of Brit & Chips, a British pub in Montreal. Lyle has had visits from the OQLF and he took me through what it's like to be confronted by the language police when all he wants to do is run his business.
