Proof anglos DO have issues getting service in English
Lucie Martineau is the president of the Quebec Public Works Union and she says she was floored when Liberal MNA Geoff Kelley told hearings into Bill 14 he gets complaints on a regular basis from anglophones who can't get service in English from various government bodies.
She was floored? I'm floored by her reaction that she doesn't believe Kelley's claims.
And they're not just claims. Tonight, I brought back Mohamed Amin of Montreal who recently had an incident at an auto insurance board outlet where he was told to speak French. Amin says he was embarrassed in front of his wife and young daughter and felt like he was being treated like a second class citizen.
That's just one example. So there's your proof Ms Martineau.
She owes Geoff Kelley, Mohamed Amin and anyone else who's had these kinds of issues, an apology.
Why am I not holding my breath?
