Anne Frank's childhood friend and stepsister speaks out
It's not everyday you have the opportunity to speak with someone who not only knew Anne Frank, but is also her stepsister. The Diary of Anne Frank is one of the most famous publications ever.
Eva Schloss in is Montreal and spent some of her time with me today. She told the story of how she first met Frank and became friends with her when they were young girls in Amsterdam.
Schloss lost family members during World War 2. Her mother ended up marrying Frank's father, years after the war.
Schloss was very candid about how she felt like she was living in Frank's shadow. She didn't speak about the war for many years but has since written about her experiences and often gives lectures based on her life.
It was a very compelling conversation.
