Will you vote?
The question isn't 'Who will you vote for?" in next month's Montreal mayoral election. The question is, "Will you vote?"
Montreal has, historically, had low voter turnout. That's not at all unusual in municipal elections where the issues usually revolve around garbage collection and parking restrictions.
But this time, it's different. After Gerald Tremblay and Michael Applebaum left office less than gloriously, the big issue is corruption. And that in itself is enough to keep cynical Montrealers away from the polls.
I understand the cynicism and pessimism.
But at the same time, if you don't vote, you don't get to have a say as to who will be the next person to lead Montreal.
So the question remains; Will you vote on November 3rd? I know I will.
