Could you accept a transgendered child?
This was a fascinating interview, when I spoke with Gloria Parker, the author of "Meeting Robyn." It's a biographical account of raising a transgender child.
In the early 1970's, Gloria gave birth to Robert, now known as Robyn.
While he was growing up, Robert knew he was different. He felt like he was a girl living in a boy's body. It wasn't easy for him. It wasn't easy for his family.
There was a point where mother and child had a very difficult relationship. But as time went by, and Gloria learned more about the issues facing transgendered people, she came to accept Robyn.
And their bond has never been stronger.
