Author of "Montreal sucks" blog speaks out

A blog written by Maxwell Turner, a philosophy student at Concordia University, has hit a nerve for very good reason.

It's called "Montreal Sucks And Everyone Knows It". Turner points out many of the city's faults, such as the infrastructure, the economy and the politics.

Listen to what he told me and see if you agree:

Your guest didn't go far enough. Some of what he said about Montreal (denial of racism, etc) you could also say about Canada. Someone referred to the city as "Milwaukee North", I agree with that label. People aren't happy here, there's no future if you're an Anglo/Allophone. And Max, confirmed a thought I had about the police, treating Anglophones differently from Francophones. There should be more people speaking out. Montreal Sucks!

    Hey Mr. Turner,
Go back to where you came from and bring Marois and Drainville with you...then Montreal will return to its greatness. You're not even from here...I am. I have travelled extensively and let me tell you...Montreal is one of the greatest Cities in the world.

Quebekers and Montrealers are just a bunch of people on boose...
Thanks a lot... Typical arrogant anglo that should go back to Toronto.

For your information MONTREAL IS NOT TORONTO !

Montreal is more "european" because of the french factor, this is why there is more culture. It is a clear distinction with the anglo "americanized" mentality and if we do what anglos want then it will look exactly like Toronto.

Anyway if Montreal is such a "dump" then please do not hit the door on your way out.

@Le Québécois Sorry Le Quebecois, but Quebecois society is a sociological basket case, and Quebec itself is a financial one.

Quebec is the worst place for charitable giving in Canada/USA and the median charitable contribution is only 44% of the 9th place (poorer) NB.

McGill raised 7X what the U de M raised the last time that I checked.

      Voluntarism is no better.

High school dropouts, pet abandonment, illiteracy are just some of the things where QC is #1 Entrepreneurship-dead last.

Toronto is no utopia. No place is BUT if you are fier d'etre Quebecois, en verite, vous n'vez pas aucun raison d'tre fier
