"Absolutely" OK to drink alcohol while pregnant: OBGYN
Can you drink occasionally while pregnant?
"The short answer is 'absolutely,'" said Dr. Cleve Ziegler, Obstetrician/Gynecologist at the Jewish General Hospital. "Most reasonable doctors have been saying that for a long time."
Dr. Ziegler, who contributes to The Vagina Dialogues on Passion with Dr. Laurie Betito, commented on a Danish study that suggested moderate drinking while pregnant does not harm a fetus. The key word, he said, is moderation.
Bonus: Dr. Ziegler also commented on study that showed 10 per cent of Americans have seen UFOs, 36 per cent are certain of their existence. He famously spoke to media after spotting something in the sky over the Cavendish Mall in Cote Saint-Luc.
