Should you mess with Poutine?
Yes! Why not? This is Pountine Week and you can try the featured poutine at about 30 participating restaurants around Montreal at special prices ($10 for a large or $5 to sample) and then vote online for your favorite)
Na’eem Adam, Ric and Suzanne Show regular, Montreal food blogger and marketing - advertising consultant has organized a fun event recognizing poutine's place in the city’s social fabric and dares to tamper with the traditional recipe. I think poutine is a social thing. What happens around a plate is as important as what's on it. Pountine warms us in the winter months and always fuels lively discussion. Are poutine’s beginnings in Trois-Rivières or Drummondville? Must the french fries be hand cut, crisp or soft and soaked with gravy? There’s no right or wrong.
I tried a good one in studio today and loved it!
