Family Project: Bryce Dallas Howard and mom Cheryl Howard Crew

Posted By: Ric Peterson · 5/14/2013 7:00:00 PM

Talk about a family project: dad suggests a collaboration, mom writes the book, daughter voices the story.

In the Face of Jinn, Cheryl Howard Crew's 2005 mystery novel about a pair of sisters on a silk-buying trip to India, is now out as an audiobook. Her daughter, Hollywood actress Bryce Dallas Howard, voices all the characters in the story.

The mom and daughter team spoke to Ric and Suzanne about the experience (and what input dad/husband Ron Howard had).

Listen to a snippet of the audiobook here:

On Angelina Jolie and saying goodbye to your breasts

Posted By: Sarah Deshaies · 5/14/2013 6:45:00 PM

Everyone is buzzing over Angelina Jolie's op-ed "My Medical Choice" and her decision to go public about her preventative double mastectomy... and the decision to opt for such drastic surgery. She was told she had a 87 per cent chance of developing cancer.

A few years ago, Karen Burelle faced the same decision: she had the BRCA1 genetic marker that meant she was likely to develop breast cancer. So, the 41-year-old Montrealer and mother lost her breasts and had them rebuilt over a nine-hour surgery.

She spoke to Ric and Suzanne about her experience today, and she says she's happy to hear about Jolie's decision to go public.

We also heard what you had to say... listen to both parts of the conversation here.
