#RemyFX: obscenity or free speech?
The trial for special effects artist Remy Couture, began on Monday. He stands accused of possession, production and circulation of obscene materials thanks to the graphic horror movies and material he posted on his website, inner depravity.
The Crown says Couture's work violates the law. But freedom of speech advocates say his trial infringes on Couture's right to express himself. And Lloyd Kaufman, king of B-movies, filmmakers and co-founder of Troma Entertainment, thinks his trial is "baloney" and a waste of taxpayer money.
Have a listen to the opinionated Kaufman here. (He provided the photo, writing on Twitter, "Here is exclusive picture of what the prosecutor, Michel Pennou, seems to represent re: Couture's trial.")
