How is Pasta-gate playing on the French side?

Posted By: Ric Peterson · 2/21/2013 10:07:00 PM

What do Francophones think of the latest issue with the Office Quebecois de la Langue Francaise?  I invited the Journal de Montreal’s Lise Ravary on the show today and I very much enjoyed the conversation.  She feels her readers are as upset over the Buonanotte debacle as I am.  This is not the Quebec they want.  She also feels her colleagues, some of whom are ardent nationalists, are embarrassed.  Could this incident be the game changer, the tipping point?  For a moment today I felt optimistic about our future, I hope the feeling lasts.

Listen to my conversation with Lise Ravary of the Journal de Montreal on the player below her picture >>>>>

Ric, I think you're being a little too optimistic here. This was one thing among many that were stupid. It's one of the only ones that 'they' actually didn't agree with. Don't let one thing in common give you a misrepresentation of the whole goal of this OQLF and the PQ.

Before Mme.Marois sends out her soldiers she should practice what she preeches...if you remember before the elections she was telling the media that Jean Charet had a "manque de LEADERSHIP" ... Since when does the word "LEADERSHIP" exist in the french vocabulary??? And while she's at it, why not send "the language police" to a couple of french radio and television stations ,or is that too much for her to chew on????

It has occurred to me that the separatists have done such a masterful job screwing up our province over the past 30years, how can they hope to run a country?

@Joe and @jamesM00761 you guys are completely confusing PQ and OQLF. Marois did not sent its language police.

OQLF is an independent bureau and seems to be run by people with bad judgmental behaviors.

Know that a much worst example of zealous language police visit happened during a liberal government as stated in the article below:

So you guys are just skimming the news and made a skrewed opinions from that. Sad...
