Free Education is the future and the future is now.

Before you paint me with a large red square allow me to say I am not siding with those who think higher education in Quebec should be free. I think the PQ proposal is irresponsible given Quebec’s enormous debt. My math and political B.S. skills won’t let me see it any other way. Even the Charest Liberals’ $325 per year increase over five years and later changed slightly to $254 over seven years doesn’t add up. Quebec is the most indebted province in Canada, with a debt exceeding $180 billion. This government claims it is committed to balancing its gargantuan budget LMAO.

Free education is already available to students here and around the globe.

Salman Khan, is on a mission to “provide a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.”  Just a few years ago he tutored a young cousin in mathematics by phone and an interactive notepad, two years later he established Khan Academy. His 3,000 instructional videos on YouTube covering lessons from arithmetic to advanced science, economics, and history have become the most used library of educational videos on the web attracting over 4.2 million unique students per month. He is definitely out to fix what ails North American public education systems with things like the Flipped Classroom. class size reform, Mastery Learning, and year round schooling.  Other proposals for reform he explains in his book, The One World Schoolhouse: Education Reimagined.

How long can schools of education and established educators hold out? Free education is just a click away.
