How to teach your kids to have healthy relationships with techology

It all started when Janell Burley-Hofmann gave her 13-year-old son a cellphone... With some strings attached.

Janell gained internet fame when her contract governing her son’s iPhone went viral. On it she lists her 18 rules he has to follow if he wants to keep it:

“I will always know the password.”

“Do not text, email, or say anything through this device you would not say in person.”

“Do not ever ignore a phone call if the screen reads “Mom” or “Dad”. Not    ever.”

Just to name a few.

Her methods are hailed by parents, and she has come back with her own book: iRules: What Every Tech Healthy Family Needs to Know About Selfies, Sexting, Gaming and Growing Up. She is dedicated to ensuring that you and your family find a happy, healthy relationship with the technology in your lives.
