Believe it or not, school starts in just a few weeks and I was talking with a concerned parent who's concerned because of the way some people drive through school zones.
I have a son in elementary school. I often drop him off at school and it's not unusual to see people driving faster, and in some cases, much faster, than the speed limit. And this concerned parent tells me, sometimes she sees a police officer in the area with a radar gun and that helps slow down cars. But she wants to know why there isn't photo radar in school zones, especially elementary schools.
She told me she thinks it would absolutely make sense to have photo radar in school zones to get the message across to some drivers to SLOW DOWN!
Do you agree? Do you think setting up photo radar in school zones is a good idea?
I think this is a great idea. I could not agree more. There can't be cops at every school zone every morning, but photo radar, that's another story.
Some people don't like photo radar because they think it's just a cash grab. Doesn't bother me. If you obey the rules of the road, you have nothing to worry about.
