Saputo: "We might be at 98 or 99 per cent" on June 16
While bulldozers worked the ground, Impact President Joey Saputo took reporters on a tour of Saputo Stadium today; some two weeks before the Impact welcome the Seattle Sounders.
On June 16th, the expanded and renovated Saputo Stadium will swing open its doors for the first time this season -- with the Impact having opened their inaugural MLS season at the Big O.
"We still have two weeks left," said Saputo. It's going to be a marathon to the finish. When you start seeing the fact that the surface is about to be laid...it's exciting. It's pretty cool what we've done."
Saputo said he knew the delays would be tight. "We may not be at 100 per cent (when the Stadium opens). But we'll be more than ready for game number one."
