Loss hurts, does the tweet hurt more?
A 3-0 loss in Marco Di Vaio's MLS debut hurts enough. Impact coach Jesse Marsch was visibly frustrated after the game but chose his words carefully. "Big disappointment." "Big Step backward."
But the tweet had already been fired off.
Impact president Joey Saputo was more blunt than ever before: "Absolute disgrace, enough said."
Fans have since tweeted back to the prez to be more positive in public. Maybe that's the kind of reaction the club's leader is hoping for.
Maybe it is a sign Saputo will move more quickly to bring in another designated player. He won't have to look far for help.
Alessandro Nesta was sitting in the Impact booth right beside CJAD's broadcast position. The longtime Milan great is a free agent and spent the evening chatting with injured Impact players Corradi and Ferrari.
Up next for the Impact: facing DC United on the 30th, then back home to Saputo Stadium live on CJAD 800 Wednesday with a 6:45 Countdown to Opening Kickoff against Sporting KC.
