Impact and head coach part ways
After just one season as the head coach of the Impact, Jesse Marsch is out of a job. But the club insists he wasn't fired, nor did he quit.
Team president Joey Saputo told reporters Saturday morning the decision to part ways was mutual. But he did add there were philosophical differences between Marsch and the club.
On Wednesday, the team said it was satisfied with Marsch who coached a team that failed to make the playoffs during its inaugural season in Major League Soccer.
The expansion Impact were 12-16-6.
The Impact are now looking for Marsch's successor and will look inside the organization as well as outside.
The team also announced that goalkeepers coach Preston Burpo and conditioning coach Adam
Rotchstein will not return.
Assistant coaches Mauro Biello, Mike Sorber and Denis Hamlett are still with the team.
