Impact promise early Spring
Hold on Impact fans: only 87 days to the Montreal Impact Home Opener! Soccer-starved fans need wait "only" 73 days for the Impact's second try at an MLS playoff spot.
MLS and the Impact have given an early stocking-stuff while the snow and slush flies on the streets around Olympic Stadium, Saputo Stadium and throughout the Montreal region.
The Impact will open their 2nd season in MLS on the road in Seattle on March 2nd and then return to Olympic Stadium to face their hated rivals Toronto FC on March 16. You'll hear that game live on CJAD 800 with former Impact legend Grant Needham and Rick Moffat.
Last spring, the Toronto matchup was part of a Montreal-vs-TO rivalry day that had the Leafs-Canadiens by night. Donald Fehr and Gary Bettman not withstanding, the Impact-TFC game will have added impact for the soccer team since squandered points against Toronto cost Montreal dearly in the playoff chase.
The Impact have also confirmed plans for a February training camp in Florida as part of the Walt Disney Pro Soccer Classic. Travel packages are being offered to fans interested in a Spring Break soccer getaway via http://www.impactmontreal.com/en
