Montreal's top draft pick Blake Smith celebrated his birthday on MLS Draft Day...and yes now that he's a pro soccer player he picked up the tab at his own family party.

Now he's moving to Montreal and takes some comfort in the fact he knows Impact captain Davy Arnaud.

"I trained with him in Kansas City while he was still their captain and he's the cousin of one of my former teammates at New Mexico so I'm excited to get their and play with him and those guys," Smith said in a Friday morning 1-on-1 interview from his home in Boerne, Texas, a rural community outside of San Antonio.
