Impact wraps up camp, heads to Disney
Montreal Impact wrapped up it’s training camp in Montreal today.
Defender Hassoun Camara practiced as a defensive midfielder alongside Patrice Bernier.
Bernier says this year's camp looks a whole lot different than last years.
“This year is different because it’s most of the same players coming back. Last year was a beginner stage learning new faces learning coaches getting to form some sort of chemistry learning what system is comfortable for our team. This year same faces are mostly all back and the new faces have added well. So we’re at least starting a bit where we left off.
Justin Mapp and Marco Di Vaio finally seem to be showing some chemistry together as Mapp set up Di Vaio's goal during the team scrimmage.
The team boards a plane for Orlando tomorrow for an 18 day stay that will include 5 pre season matches. Head coach Marco Schällibaum says it’s important to see how the guys react on the road in game action.
“For the three weeks it was hard but it was necessary to have to base the physical. And now we go into competition time. I like this, the competition, that you have to work to beat a team that also wants to win. So it’s good to see the players.”
The road trip starts with a matchup against Sporting Kansas City at 3pm on Saturday.
