Arnaud getting set for his return
The Montreal Impact were back on the practice pitch today and a familiar face was taking part in drills. Captain Davy Arnaud has been out with a concussion since May 1, and says it feels like he’s one step closer to a return.
“Ya I feel good. Today was the first day i’ve kinda been back involved with the team a little bit. Just did some technical work and i’m getting close now. There’s just one more step I think I need to do. I need to have actually have a day just heading the ball. Just to make sure I feel fine after that. If I get through that in the next few days, then hopefully I can start to get back to being fully involved.”
Forward Andrew Wenger has had trouble finding the back of the net lately, including a number of missed opportunities against the Crew this weekend. But Wenger says his dry streak is just a phase.
“It’s a confidence thing. You see a lot of scorers that would several games without scoring and then they’ll go on a run and score a ton. It’s just about getting the confidence together and putting a couple goals together and we’ll see where it ends up. It’s a long season guys.”
