Family affair for Karine Thomas
Montreal's Karine Thomas is following in her father's footsteps as she prepares to compete for Canada in synchro swimming at the London Olympics.
Her dad, Ian, was an Olympic-calibre water polo player who was primed to compete at the 1980 Summer Games in the Soviet Union. However, Canada pulled the plug as part of a world-wide Olympic boycott.
"He didn't get the chance to live the Olympics. But he did do quite a bit of competing for Canada. He's a great supporter."
Thomas and the rest of the Synchro Canada swim team are in Spain preparing for London.
