First came the racoons, then came the skunks

So after a cold, damp windy weekend everyone wanted to get outside late Sunday when the sun finaly shone.

And... when I say windy..... I mean windy!

Looked out the window and saw this guy.

Went out the door to take a picture, and smelled him!

Unwanted (but cute) visitor

There is an old saying that "squirrels are rats with good public relations".

I'd like to say the same about racoons, like this one that was making its way across the lawn at my home this week.

Over the past few years grubs have infested my lawn and that's like a " kitchen is open sign" for skunks and racoons in the spring.

I'm not a lawn guy so it doesn't really bug me that part of my lawn is shredded every year, but if nothing else I have learned that skunks dig and roll back the turf, while racoons are more precise and dig small holes directly to their prey.

I look at it as aeraton!

Peace!

We'll get a chance to see a comet from just about anywhere in Quebec this week.

It's called Comet PANSTARRS and has been the start of the skies in the southern hemisphere for weeks.

Now it's our turn.

Click here for information on how and when to best view Comet PANSTARRS.

You won't learn anything about them, but you might appreciate how they are portrayed in this video.
