Police in Gatineau have seized 16 pythons and other exotic reptiles from a home yesterday.
Police, animal control officials, and representatives from Environment Canada arrived at the home on Notre-Dame St. at around 10:30 yesterday morning, armed with a search warrant. They were acting on a citizen's complaint.
One of the snakes taken is said to have been poisonous.
The reptiles will now be taken to a zoo to detemine whether their owner, a 24-year-old man who was on hand at the time of the raid, is legally able to hold them.
It's unclear what penalties the man might be in for.
