Motorists take note: starting at midnight Friday night until Saturday at 5 p.m., roadwork will make it impossible to cross the Mercier bridge into Montreal.
The two southbound lanes, however, will remain open.
The work will happen on the federally-owned portion of the bridge.
The federal bridge authority is urging motorists to use other bridges or highway 30. It also suggests the work might be finished quicker than expected — weather permitting.
Meanwhile, there'll only be one Montreal-bound lane open on the Champlain bridge from 7 a.m. on Saturday through Sunday at noon.
And the Bonaventure Expressway toward Montreal will be shut down overnight from Friday into Saturday.
