A former Quebec premier has unveiled his position on the proposed values of charter in an open letter.
Bernard Landry says he supports it.
Landry sent his letter to the Journal de Montreal, saying he can't wait for the legislation to be formally tabled in the National Assembly.
That's expected by year's end.
He adds he hopes teachers are included in the final draft, that they're in a position of moral authority and intellect.
The plan would ban public servants from wearing large religious symbols on the job.
