Government hopes to pass mining reform legislation

The holiday break for Quebec MNA's will have to wait.

The Quebec National Assembly has been recalled.

A special session is planned for Monday in hopes of passing Bill 70, mining reform legislation.

It calls for stabilization of of mining development, as well as protecting the environment.

The government has stated it wants the bill to pass before Christmas.

Natural Resources Minister Martine Ouellet wanted to the bill passed in the fall.

MNA's broke for the holidays on Friday.
