The RCMP, Canada Border Services Agency and the Montreal Police Force carried out a series raids last night to take down an organization believed to be trafficking in Romanian women who are brought to Canada to work in massage parlours.
Four erotic massage parlour operators were arrested, and one — 35-year-old Yan Fang Chen — is still wanted by police. The four face charges of keeping a common bawdy-house and prostitution-related charges.
Two clients were found at the parlours, and were arrested. They're free on a promise to appear in court at a later date on charges of being in a common bawdy house.
The raids follow up on similar raids in Montreal on Nov. 29, where three more parlour owners and a client were picked up.
