Update:Verdict delayed for teacher accused of sexually exploiting student

A Saint-Jérôme court judge has postponed a verdict in the case of a former Rosemere High School gym teacher who was charged with having a sexual relationship with a student.

The judge apparently fell ill, and has postponed sentencing to January 21st.

Tania Pontbriand was accused of sexual assault involving a minor and having sexual contact with a minor while in a position of authority.

The prosecution alleges that the two year long relationship began in 2002 when Pontbriand was 32-years oldand the boy was 15.

The victim, who cannot be identified because he was a minor at the time, filed a complaint against Pontbriand in 2007.
