Cops use Facebook to nab speeding teens

Two Sherbrooke-area teenagers clearly did not think things through, when they posted a video of themselves in a speeding car along a highway.

Investigators at the Sûreté du Québec were tipped off to the video last month, viewed it, took notes and laid charges.

A 20-year old man from Coaticook was fined $130 for speeding and more than $1200 for participating in a race.

He lost a total of 8 demerit points.

His friend in the passenger seat who was videotaping it all faces a charge of inciting someone to speed and if convicted will also face a $1200 fine and the loss of six demerit points.
