A Saint-Lazare resident who has been battling city hall and his own insurance company two and-a-half-years since his home was destroyed by fire, says no court order will deter him from continuing his fight.
Allan Bassenden and his family have been living in a trailer on their property ever since that fire.
His insurance company paid off the mortgage, but refused to assume the cost of rebuilding because it contends that Bassenden was operating an illegal car repair business from his home.
The city ordered Bassenden to remove the trailer in March of last year.
Bassenden claims he cannot afford to remove the trailer or rebuild his house.
Says he has no options, and he'll wait to see what happens next spring.
