Busy weekend for snow crews in Montreal

There's more snow in the forecast for the weekend, but it doesn't end there.

It'll be ice pellets or freezing rain overnight with snow late tomorrow, blowing snow and maybe more reezing rain and ice pellets.

There's winter storm watch in effect.

Clearly, if it's snow that's falling it's one approach for the city, but if it's freezing rain it's something else.

"We have to stop the removing of snow, we have to put some new salt and abrasives on the sidewalk. It's very difficult because we have to adjust with the temperature and this weekend we're going to have a cocktail of everything", Anie Samson, Montreal's executive committee member for citizens' services, told the Aaron rand show.

Samson stresses the importance of respecting the orange no-parking signs.

"We don't enjoy to give tickets and to tow them, but we have to clean the street", added Samson.

She adds more than 5,000 vehicles have been towed so far, adding that delays snow operations.

Snow removal from last weekend's storm is said to be almost finished.
