Repair work is scheduled for this weekend on the federal side of the Mercier Bridge, and that means both of the bridge's southbound lanes will be closed on Saturday, from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The two Montreal-bound lanes, however, will remain open.
The repair work will involve a section of the roadway which will eventually be completely replaced.
Drivers are being urged to use Highway 30, or any of the other south shore bridges.
Meanwhile, a key ramp on the Turcot interchange is expected to reopen on Friday, after being shut down for most of the year.
The ramp linking eastbound Highway 20 to Highway 15 south, toward the Champlain bridge, is reopening today, three months behind schedule.
And the far right-hand lane of the Champlain Bridge is also set to reopen Friday afternoon. It had been closed since a small crack was discovered in a support beam — which necessitated the installation of a 75-ton 'super-beam' three weeks ago.
Once the winter ends, a more permanent solution to the problem will be put in place.
