Tough year for Quebec restaurants; some have gone under

It's been a generally difficult year for Quebec restaurants.

But they hope the holiday season will put some wind in their sails.

Expectations, however, are said to be moderate.

The provincial restaurateurs' association cites the lagging economy.

A spokesman says the problem is not so much that Quebecers don't go out anymore, but that there's less money to spend whether it be at restaurants or elsewhere.

Some restaurants have declared bankruptcy in recent months.
