A fire in a Montreal glass bottling company Saturday caused an estimated 5-million dollars worth of damage.
The fire impacted four key pieces of equipment of
Pointe-Sainte-Charles O-I factory.
The damage is expected to reduce productivity by 60 per cent and put nearly 200 people temporarily out of a job
The Montreal fire department says the fire began with a faulty heater and a gas pipe leak.
The blaze then spread quickly thanks to the sheet of oil that coated the factory floor.
70 employees were in the factory at the time of the incident and all of them escaped safely.
