Autoroute 30 celebrates 1st anniversary with price increase

It`s one year old and the A30 Express is marking the occasion with a fare increase.

Tolls for passenger vehicles and trucks crossing the bridge in Les Cèdres west of the island will increase, but fees for transponders will be eliminated.

It`s part of an agreement between the bridge operators and the Quebec Transport Ministry.

As of February 1st the cost for passenger vehicles will be increased to $2 from $1.50.

The prices for other vehicles and trucks will jump to $1.50 per axle from $1.15.

Motorists must currently pay $5 for a transponder, but that charge will be dropped until December 15th of this year.
