AMT commuters getting on the Deux-Montagnes line at the Roxboro-Pierrefonds station say they're fed up with the lack of parking and maintenance during this difficult weather.
The West Island commuters say parking at the AMT Roxboro-Pierrefonds station is already bad, but now mountains of snow have taken up a quarter of the already limited parking spots and it's getting unbearable.
Franceen Miller, who uses the train daily, says that with this weather she has to get to the station by 6 AM to find a parking spot in time for the 8 AM train.
“If I get there any later very rarely will I find parking,” she told CJAD.
She says on top of that, the platforms are often dangerously icy and on two occasions the heat was not working on some of the train cars.
“I have called the AMT many times, it keeps ringing and you get a recorded message. I have left several messages, so have many of my friends, and we have never received a return phone call.”
The AMT told CJAD it was aware of the parking problem and will introduce a paid parking pilot project this year to try and evaluate different solutions.
Regarding winter maintenance, it said it is doing its best during these extreme weather conditions.
