Victims of snow removal scam file police reports

Montreal police have received complaints from more people speaking out about the snow removal company operating in Laval and Montreal, that takes your money and then never shows up to do the job.

The ex-landlord of the man who owns the company has reached out to CJAD to offer information but requested anonymity, fearing repercussions.

She says his name is Franco D'Amore and his company Aménagement Paysager Déneigement FJC is still registered to her address in Anjou.

But she says he took off last February owing her $3000 in rent and damage.

Since then, she says people who paid him to clear their snow, have been calling and showing up at the door looking for him.

“We had a person come to our door yesterday looking for him, and our tenants upstairs are getting calls, people are upset.”

“When I heard, I said wow this guy is a professional scam artist, it really bothered me, that’s why I contacted you because I would like to see this kid arrested for what he’s doing,” she told CJAD.

She says she's still receiving mail for D'Amore under ten different aliases.

Montreal police have confirmed to CJAD that it has received complaints and will be collaborating with the landlord.

Both Montreal and Laval police are urging any victims to file a complaint at their local police station.

Unless a company has been in the area for years,
Always, always, always get and verify references.
    Never, never, never pay upfront.
    Every year people get screwed.
