Group wants secularism charter to include circumcision ban

A group that lobbies against circumcision will present a brief at the public hearings into the PQ's proposed secularism charter saying the procedure is a religious or cultural rite that must also be banned.

STOPCIRCUMCISIONQUEBEC likens the practice to mutilation.

The organization is among 250 groups that will made presentations before the committee.

It also says it supports a ban on wearing religious clothing for government employees.
