Serious fire damage in St. Leonard

A furniture warehouse caught fire early this morning on Creusot street near Langelier in St. Leonard..

Fortunately, nobody was injured.

Fire chief Ian Ritchie says initially 75 firefighters were called in around 5:30 a.m. to battle the blaze, which spread very quickly.

"The investigation of the fire is being transferred to the Montreal police department, because the amount of fire that was in the building on the arrival of the firefighters. And also, because of the collapse of the roof.

No other buildings were damaged.
